call getUserName() from login module, JBoss returns session id not username.

This issue seems to come and go with JDK updates. jdk1.6.0_18 was working fine but now on Windows 2008 64 bit, we are getting the session_id again when calling getUserName().

Can anyone shed some light? How can we get the remote username?

You say it was working on update 18 - what version is failing for you now?

Still using jdk1.6.0_18, but the problem is on Windows Server 2008 64bit.

And that is the machine running JBoss?

That is correct. JBoss 5.1.0 on Win2008 64bit, JDK 1.6.0_18 64 bit
Working fine on 32bit

More info- I can see the actual user in the debugger - sschmidt in this case:
this.authorizationManager.domainCache.entryMap
