Smooks issue

Transforming xml to xml smooks and or freemarker removes escapes... changes & to &. Any way aroung this?

What version of Smooks? I dount it has anything to do with FreeMarker. If not using Smooks v1.4 (or 1.5-SNAPSHOT)... please download, update and try again.
