Migration from IBM JSF to RichFaces

Hi,

I have a web application written in IBM JSF and Rational Application Developer and would like to migrate it to RichFaces and Eclipse so that it is more platform independent and not tied down to IBM. Has anyone done the similar migration before?

Based on initial analysis, the migration seems quite tedious. For example, to replace all the IBM specific JSF components in the jsp to the corresponding RichFaces components and also need to modify the pagecode accordingly. Can this be automated or partially automated?

Hi,

unfortunately RichFaces doesn't provide any automated tools for migration neither from RichFaces 3 to 4 nor for migration from third-party libraries. I'm afraid you will have to do it manually.

Our Developer Guide and Component Reference might be useful for your migration.
