Distributed Executor / Mapreduce framework

When using the distributed excutor or the Mapreduce framework what API's can you use in the callable methods?  For example what if I need to use some custom classes or third party API's to do some of the work on the grid.

Yeah, what if you need to use classes that are third party apis.  If I try to use class FOO which exists in BAR.jar will it work?  Do you just have to make sure that jar exists on the classpath of the running nodes?

lol.  I will give it a shot when I get a chance.  Hopefully it works fine.  I am sure someone out there has probably tried this already.
