Centralized news page for Richfaces evolution

Good day!

In a discussion on the Richfaces irc channel with Nick Belaevski, I asked whether there was a centralized news page for everything related to Richfaces and, if not, if it was somehow possible to create one.

I am, as lots of other folks I suppose, very interested in the news about Richfaces and, currently, these are quite scattered in lots of different blogs (on relation.to / this forum / the wiki and so on).  Having them all gathered (maybe just even links for a start) in one central place would benefit everybody.  We could keep in touch with the updates a lot easier, improving our overal knowledge about it.

That's really fair point.. B.t.w. We already have the newsfeed at the main site(at the bottom) which aggregates all the major blogs and our twits about RichFaces.. From the beginning I think just need to check it to make sure all the guys blogs are there (for now as I remember only my, Jay's and RF twitter are aggregated).. But maybe creating jboss.org blog to centralize all the links could be also good idea..

I have checked the news feed from the bottom of the page and it can be helpful even if I must admit that I don't see it clear enough / sufficient.

Having a blog at jboss.org centralizing this all would be quite fine indeed.

Hello guys,

it will be good to use aggregated content from blogs related to RichFaces,

actually this is the purpose of http://planet.jboss.org/ .

I propose to use this site to aggregate blogs (we will add all the known sources there) and use it as entry point for knowledge share.

We'll need to get that updated as well with links for other news items.

It seems two different "subjects" really - one for project news, and one for all blogs, updates, etc...

We'll have to see what we can get done.

For some reason, the page does not display correctly with Firefox 4.0.1, IE 8 and Opera 11.01 but does so in chrome: it is clipped in the middle of the second news element.

Note that I am behind a corporate firewall and I get some "access denied for some elements.  Still, even if these elements are not displayed correctly, the overall page should be displayed fine I suppose => Don't know if the problem is on my side or "yours".

Indeed Jay: centralizing items from all the participants is a must.

Now for the 2 different subjects, I suppose it is a matter of the amount of news and blog items that get posted each day.  To monitor then...

Last but not least, the news page should probably be displayed (or at least made clearly available) from the root page of Richfaces.  In place of the "RichFaces News, Tweets, and Feeds"? These could be part of the "pack" as well by the way... To put in relation with point A
