1. rich:editor in RF4 ?
ilya40umov Jan 25, 2011 2:31 PM (in response to marn2402)I'm pretty sure that RF team is going to implement rich:editor in RF 4.x but it definetly won't be done before the final release of 4.0.0. There is no oportunity to do it before because the full set of planed components for 4.0.0 is done. It's time to fix bugs and write some documentation.

2. rich:editor in RF4 ?
jbalunas Jan 25, 2011 3:13 PM (in response to ilya40umov)Ilya is right unfortunatly. The editor did not make the cut. We wish it did, but the problem is not just timing, but also the tinyMC impl. We will be looking for another implementation to use as the base for that component.
There are few in mind like Yahoo, jquery, etc... Any suggestions?

3. rich:editor in RF4 ?
jbalunas Jan 25, 2011 3:14 PM (in response to jbalunas)Nicolas - it should be possible to plug in either of these editors, but it just would not be a rich:component.
I'll create a jira for posting a blog on that.

4. rich:editor in RF4 ?
ilya40umov Jan 25, 2011 3:27 PM (in response to jbalunas)I managed to find that there are so many editors on the Internet as I even wasn't able to imagine. At least 10 can be found here:
http://www.queness.com/post/212/10-jquery-and-non-jquery-javascript-rich-text-editors
But I'm just wondering what's the problem with tinyMCE?

5. rich:editor in RF4 ?
jbalunas Jan 25, 2011 3:35 PM (in response to ilya40umov)The big reason was instability in API's between point releases, and difficulties in skinning and resource handling ( specifically in portal environments ).
Thanks for the link - I think I saw that before, but good to see :-)

9. rich:editor in RF4 ?
jbalunas May 12, 2011 10:22 AM (in response to atijms)rich:editor is certainly one of the priorities for 4.1 ( fall )
We've not had time for the blog post on manual integration with composite components :-(
If anyone is interested in writing up one we would sure appreciate it ;-)
