setting focus in modalPanel?

Hi

I have a problem:

(Using richfaces 3.3.0)


Code:

<rich:modalPanel id="loupeResults" minHeight="100" onshow="document.getElementById('scrollPanel').focus();">

this does not work. focus will not be set on the desired element when panel shows.

funny thing:

<rich:modalPanel id="loupeResults" minHeight="100" onshow="alert('test');document.getElementById('scrollPanel').focus();">

then it works...

I also saw that this was once a Jira issue, but this was in version 3.1 or sth. it does not seem to be fixed...

Can sw. help? does sw. has a workarround? thanks alot!

add some small delay using setTimeout.. Probably some DOM elements not ready on script completion and onshow call. As far as I remember this happens only in FF?

yes you're right: I checked and in IE it works. Thats weird.

I tried to put a wait function in there but that wasn't helping either because the wait somehow delays the loading of the panel itself.

Hm any more ideas?

How did you added wait? I've used setTimeout function and it resolved a problem for me.

I have not tried with setTimeout() I wrote a method myself. Maybe thats the problem... I will try with setTimeout().
