Authenticating clients using a custom Idp

We currently perform authentication using one of our old systems. I need to be able to authenticate the clients using that system's provided authentication mechanism. I am not exactly sure which classes/configurations I have to implement/change in order to achieve this. Any help on this matter is greatly appreciated.

I had to implement the AbstractServerLoginModule interface and use it to make this scenario work.
