JBoss 5 GA won't start on Ubuntu

Hi,

I'm using the Sun JDK 1.6.0_11 on Ubuntu and when I try to start JBoss 5 GA I get the following error:

08:30:37,733 WARN [arjLoggerI18N] [com.arjuna.ats.arjuna.recovery.TransactionStatusManager_14] - Failed to create server socket on address 127.0.0.1 and port: 4,713
08:30:37,733 ERROR [AbstractKernelController] Error installing to Create: name=TransactionManager state=Configured
com.arjuna.ats.arjuna.exceptions.FatalError: [com.arjuna.ats.arjuna.recovery.TransactionStatusManager_9] - Could not get unique port.

This is just the out-of-the-box JBoss. Any ideas? Thanks.

Looks like something else is using port 4713. See https://www.jboss.org/community/docs/DOC-9520

You have the choice of either stopping the other app, making the other app use a different port, or changing the port JBoss AS is using.

If you decide to change the port JBoss AS 5 is using, you can edit the file server/xxx/conf/bootstrap/bindings.xml.

Turns out that pulseaudio uses that port by default:
pulseaudi 6583 jamesw 31u IPv6 50799 TCP *:4713 (LISTEN)
