using HTTP POST to submit variables to RichFaces portlet

Hello,
I have been using RichFaces for the last 6 months for the development of a portlet with search capabilities.
I have almost completed the portlet and have the following issue: I would lke to access the search capabilities of the portlet from an external site by posting the required parameters using HTTP-POST (preferably) or HTTP-GET. I would also like to access a specific page of the portlet with some of the info I submit filled in.
I would appreciate any help, as I seem to have stuck in that.
