1. Re: JBoss AS 6 - configuration without using ports
wdfink Jun 27, 2011 5:35 AM (in response to kaneeec)The JBoss server need some ports for commuication, there is no option for such 'stealth' mode.
There are three options to solve.
1)
Use the binding manager (configuration depends on the version you have)
to set different port settings.
2)
Bind the JBoss with the startoption '-b <IP>' against a different virtual IP address
In this case the system must be confgured also!
3)
remove all unneeded services
but in this case some services might be left and you have to use 1) or 2) additional

wolfc Jun 27, 2011 10:14 AM (in response to wdfink)Note that 127.b.c.d. signifies a whole range of virtual IP addresses, so '-b 127.0.0.2' would also work.

3. Re: JBoss AS 6 - configuration without using ports
kaneeec Jun 27, 2011 10:18 AM (in response to kaneeec)The problem is that I don't want to setup ports/virtual ip for every instance of the AS. Back at JBoss 4, I used the same configuration for every instance - no changes and no ports collisions.

4. Re: JBoss AS 6 - configuration without using ports
wdfink Jun 27, 2011 12:46 PM (in response to kaneeec)That I can't understand.
The IP binding and ports will work in the same manner nevertheless whether you use JBoss 4,5 or 6.
So in fact you must do something different.

5. Re: JBoss AS 6 - configuration without using ports
kaneeec Jun 27, 2011 2:27 PM (in response to wdfink)But I haven't done the JBoss 4 configuration. I just got the final archive with preconfigured instance. I tried to copy the configuration somehow, but it didn't work so I'm looking for a solution how to do this.
