NullPointerException - PersistenceUnitDeploymentProcessor.addProviderProperties

Hi,

I try to deploy a project (EJB3, JSF 1.2) on JBoss 7. After the EJBs where bound in the JNDI I get the following error. Do someone know what causes the error?

I just added a null check in this code yesterday to give a more informative error message.  Could you post your persistence.xml contents and we can go from there.  I suspect its because the persistence provider is not org.eclipse.persistence.jpa.PersistenceProvider.

I'm working on a fix for this that I hope to have working soon.  You might want to watch https://issues.jboss.org/browse/AS7-566, to get email notifications when the change is complete.  After that point, you could try the latest nightly build (http://community.jboss.org/thread/167590) to help me test the change perhaps?

I'll need to add an persistence provider adapter for eclipselink also.

This issue is also a showstopper with JBossAS7 for me - currently we can't switch from GlassFish just because we use EclipseLink

We have also got this issue. I'm  using eclipselink 2.3 at the moment with  JBOSS 6  and I want to switch to JBOSS 7 as quickly as I can. I cant  bear the slow deployment of EARS and WARS  and the slow startup times in  JBOSS 6 anymore. JBOSS 7 is lightning quick might I add (no pun intended ). This issue is unfortunately a show stopper for us.

Some of the needed changes have been made (internal restructuring) and some are still in progress. 

If anyone is interested in helping to finish the support for other persistence provider modules (EE JPA plugability feature), I can find you some tasks that will help get this done quicker.  This can be in writing the code, testing, documenting or helping others in the forums.
