seting background of h:input dynamically

i am using richfaces 4 and have enabled blueskin as default and i want to change h:input background color or border while doing client side  validation

i created a css class and trying to set it dynamicaly. In case of select it works fine but in case of h:input it does not show any effect... using firebug i can see that css class in added to h:input in 'class' tag in both cases...

what is missing or what should i do to achive this (change background color of border color)

any suggestions are welcome

i got the anwser.. it requires to set as high priority by using !important with all rules that must be applied so that richfaces skin or any other class would not override it...
