true_mykola Sep 9, 2011 3:51 AM (in response to navier98)may be you forgot about h:form (or a4j:form)? buttons won't work without form

healeyb Sep 9, 2011 5:50 AM (in response to true_mykola)Do you need to use a4j:include?

navier98 Sep 10, 2011 9:24 PM (in response to healeyb)Thanks for responding. Yes, the a4j:commandButton is in a a4j:form, and I tried to change <ui:include> to <a4j:include> but the button behaved the same.

healeyb Sep 11, 2011 5:40 AM (in response to navier98)1 of 1 people found this helpfulHi, I've never used RF 3/JSF 1.x but I've seen it suggested that you can use a pattern such as
this which has to be worth a try:
<a4j:outputPanel ajaxRendered="true">
<a4j:include viewId=" ... " />
</a4j:outputPanel>
As you point out in your OP in JSF 2 you can't get a dynamic ui:include working with partial
state saving, so you need to disable it (at minimum) on a per view basis as you suggest. But
having done this I've been able to get it working successfully.
