how to pop up a window on client when server receives a message

Hello, we are using JSF/Richfaces 3.3 to build a CRM application running on JBoss 5.1. When a phone call comes in, server side will get a message from CTI provider. How to popup a window showing customer info on client side(web browser side). Thanks for any info and help.

I looked at webSocket, does JBOSS 5.1 and JSF/Richfaces support webSocket? can the websocket be a servlet on server side? I could not find much info about websocket server side? Thanks for help.
