Hello,

I am trying to configure RHQ (JON 2.4.1 specifcally) to monitor my JBoss instances (EAP 5.1.1) on virtual machines (KVM).

I would like to prepare a template virtual machine an have it cloned and started  on demmand, without re-configuration.

Is it possible that the agent configures its own hostname and IP address in runtime instad of configuration time?

Now i am having to configure it explicitly on agent installation.

John S. has done this kind of thing and documented running RHQ on EC2. And Simeon  P. is currently looking at cloud integration (RHQ and Red Hat CloudForms). Those links might help - and they might be able to chime in.

Thanks a lot for helping again Jhon, that worked well.

I now trying to figure out how to make the whole thing "auto-scaling" without human intervention.
