1. Re: FixedColumns or fixedRows in scrollable DataTable?
h2g2 Oct 10, 2011 4:22 AM (in response to sabya113)1 of 1 people found this helpfulHi,
You could use that attrib to freeze some columns : frozenColCount
It's not the same for extendedDataTable, so if you once happen to switch, use this one: frozenColumns
If you also want to freeze rows, then I think you can basicely include them in the (table's or rows') header : since I suppose their content is not part of the data itself, but cames from another set of data, you just have to include them as header for rows or entire table.

2. Re: FixedColumns or fixedRows in scrollable DataTable?
sabya113 Oct 10, 2011 4:40 AM (in response to h2g2)Thanks, but most of my tables are just rich:dataTable.
frozenColumns is also not a part of Release 3.3X
Seems i have to migrate to
<
rich:scrollableDataTable> (ColumnsWidth are also not available for scrollableDataTable)
for now as cant migrate to version 4+(missing complex components)

3. Re: FixedColumns or fixedRows in scrollable DataTable?
h2g2 Oct 10, 2011 5:59 AM (in response to sabya113)Right, I didn't notice the frozenColumns trick was for 4+ only : my bad!.
Though, I thought you were using scrollable datatable (according to the topic's title). Then, actually that will not be easy...
Maybe could you use some h:pannelGroup around the columns that are not frozen and apply the scroll on them.
But that would be easier here if you could show your code, so that we can suggest according to what you actually have.

4. Re: FixedColumns or fixedRows in scrollable DataTable?
sabya113 Oct 10, 2011 6:39 AM (in response to h2g2)Lemme try.The problem is half of the headers are dynamic and defined in backing bean and othet half is hard coded.
The data may also vary(dynamic) and the operations also varies depending on the data.
I also have to use right click ContextMenu and all this happening in backing bean.So little muddled up.
Let me try ur suggestion..Will post the code if nothing works out
Thanks for the Patience
