why there is padding in rich:combobox?

I download the richfaces-demo from svn, 3.3.1GA. And I deployed it to tomcat 6.0, it run succsefully. Then I create a test combobox.xhtml file in the webapp root. And I browser it with http://localhost:8080/context/combobox.jsf. It has the padding in the combobox.

But the sample comobox in the demo (same local site) are fine.

Why is that?

I compare the generated html and css, they looks the same. Am I miss somethin?

The combobox.xhtml is like below:

Yes, https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/RF-7430. Check that doctype is really being rendered - ui:composition can cut it.
