multiple authentication on Jboss - one instance

Hi all,

I have been asked if it is possible to install 2 authentication methods on Jboss, Database (MSSQL) and LDAP , but using only one instance of Jboss ??

Is that possible to run 2 authentication methods on the same instance ? If possible, could you please explain how ?

Which version of JBoss AS? In AS 6 and earlier, you can define multiple application-policy entries in server/xxx/conf/login-config.xml and have you apps use whichever one they want. There is also a way to chain login modules such that, for example, if the account is not found in the database then it would be looked up in LDAP (see this: http://docs.redhat.com/docs/en-US/JBoss_Enterprise_Application_Platform/4.2/html/Server_Configuration_Guide/Defining_Security_Domains-Using_JBoss_Login_Modules.html)
