You using correct approach but in order to work correctly with sorting/filtering/grouping you should also implement interface modify as shown at demo for rich:dataTable.

I thougth of overriding the default renderer.
But how can I do this?
Are these steps sufficient?
1) Override default renderer for extendedDataTable (org.richfaces.renderkit.html.ExtendedDataTableRenderer)
2) create facelets-taglib
Are there any tutorials about how to override a renderer for richfaces / facelets?
