Vault and attributes Masking

Hi all,

I have some questions regarding following articles and jira tasks:

1. The article http://community.jboss.org/message/642169#642169 describes attributes masking by using vaults
2. Jira task https://issues.jboss.org/browse/AS7-1622?focusedCommentId=12652269#comment-12652269 implemeted this feature
3. Jira task https://issues.jboss.org/browse/AS7-1623 imlemented the vault element for security sub-system.

As I understood there are two ways for vault configuration.

• in domain scoped
• in security subsystem

which produce different vaults. Only those configured in domain scope may be used for attribute masking.

Could anybody write me:

• why is it required to have both types of vaults?
• Why not those from security subsystem can be used for attribute masking?
