One which should work is a simple web application with a startup servlet that write the value(s) to JBoss cache. But here there is no automatic way to remove it if the node crash or shutdown.
Or you might implement a mbean to use JGroups (here the cluster nodes are known).
But it looks not simple to me and it depends on you what you want to spend for.
