JBoss 7 and MaxDB

Hi,

I have been working with a MAXDB database and Spring, hibernate stack. When I looked at using JPA through JBoss 7 I started getting a lot of failures (native sql and other).

I have 'almost' reached the conclusion that MAXDB isn't supported through JPA.

Can anybody tell me if JBoss supports MAXB with JPA?  I'm not bothered either way but it would help deciding if it's time to put effort into migrating away from MAXDB.

Never heard of MAXDB, but its not much about JBoss AS supporting MAXDB but whether the JDBC driver for MAXDB is good enough. Also, IMHO JBoss will not "officially" support MAXDB.

it is not a problem of Jboss or JPA, the only question if is it still supported by hibernate 4.

and by looking at http://docs.jboss.org/hibernate/core/4.0/manual/en-US/html_single/#configuration-optional-dialects

you can see that there is dialect for maxdb/sapdb: org.hibernate.dialect.SAPDBDialect

Can you check what kind of dialect are you using? If you dont have it explicitly set, check what does it says in log when it creates EntityMangerFactory
