how to reRender the hole page

Hello, I am new Richfaces user.
I want to know, how i can reRender the whole page.
I have two Portlets which communicate over the applicationScope.
But now I should update the other Portlet to get the new applicationScope Parameters.

My Applications consists of:
-JBoss Portal 2.7.2
-Richfaces 3.1.1.GA
-JSF 1.1.14
-PortletBridge 1.0.0.CR2

Knows someone, how to handle that?

why not just use common h:command* controls?
