1. Re: Seam 3 progress slowed?
shane.bryzak Jul 17, 2010 3:04 PM (in response to glively)That's strange - which modules are failing exactly, and with what kind of errors?
Rest assured that Seam 3 development is going ahead at full steam, with a lot of developers contributing - here's the module status report from our latest team meeting (including the IRC transcript):

glively Jul 30, 2010 8:19 AM (in response to glively)When I mentioned modules failed to build, I was referring to this link:
http://seamframework.org/Seam3/ProjectStatusAndDirection
And 2 weeks later, still only 2 modules appear to be building successfully. Looking forward to Seam 3! I've got plans on establishing it as the standard framework at my company...

kaczortrex Aug 13, 2010 4:42 PM (in response to glively)Hi guys,
i'm wondering about Security Module - is it alive?. In my opinion it's one of major modules and up till now it has no even alpha release

6. Re: Seam 3 progress slowed?
shane.bryzak Aug 13, 2010 10:43 PM (in response to glively)It's ready for an alpha release now, however it depends on a couple of other Seam modules that haven't been released yet and so its' own release has been delayed. Hopefully they'll have alpha releases out in the next week or so and security will be released shortly after.

i've actually been curious about the status of this as well. from looking through the JIRAs it seems like there's a lot of things waiting on some ambiguously defined dependency of
JBoss Logging 3
. there's a Seam JIRA issue https://jira.jboss.org/browse/SEAM-1 that describes a new type of logging, I would assume in seam core. however, there doesn't seem to be any progress on it. anyone have any idea what it's supposed to be? i have sometime in the next few weeks and would be willing to contribute if someone can give more than a 1 line on it. also, a comment on the issue itself, it seems like it really should be part of seam international. -
11. Re: Seam 3 progress slowed?
shane.bryzak Aug 22, 2010 8:16 PM (in response to glively)There's no logging dependency holding up releases. What we do have, is a number of modules waiting for the imminent Weld Extensions release, for which the team is currently tidying up the documentation and unit tests. Once it's released, like a line of dominos you'll start to see other modules release alphas (Seam XML config, Drools, Security, etc).

12. Re: Seam 3 progress slowed?
meetoblivion Aug 22, 2010 10:00 PM (in response to glively)I didn't intend for it to sound like that was the only dependency. The reason I was pointing it out in particular was that I saw in many cases the jboss team uses @Inject org.slf4j.Logger in a number of cases, But then you see WELDX-92 which seems to reference logging as a replacement for the slf4j wrapper.
