dan.j.allen Jan 12, 2011 3:26 AM (in response to andreananda)We are looking for a driver for this module. Peter Royale contributed the original code, but it's sat idle for a few months. Time to rev it back up again!

hantsy Jan 12, 2011 3:32 AM (in response to andreananda)JEE 6 also has declarative scheduling support, I think it is better support the JEE standard approach and Quartz.

dan.j.allen Jan 12, 2011 3:39 AM (in response to andreananda)That's very true. I think this is the case of having a non-EJB option. It's similar to the transactions for managed beans feature of Seam persistence in that sense.
I also think that async support for managed beans should be included in this module. Distributed, guarnateed async eventing will show up in the JMS module, so there is some close relationship there.

andreananda Jan 12, 2011 3:09 PM (in response to andreananda)Thank you all for the answers!
We are planning Seam 2 to Seam 3 migration and I am comparing the packages we are currently using to the new versions. I am also looking for others scheduling options in Java API. -

dan.j.allen Jan 19, 2011 12:55 AM (in response to andreananda)We have decided to rename Seam Scheduling to Seam Cron (proposed). Here's the module page.
Expect a spark of activity very soon as we align contributions.

peteroyle.howardmoon.hitcity.com.au Jun 1, 2011 7:36 PM (in response to andreananda)Hi,
A quick update, Seam Cron 3.0.0.Alpha1 has just been released. It's in the JBoss Public Repository for easy integration into your Maven project. Please see the Seam Cron Module Page for more details.
Thanks, and remember to catch me on irc (#seam on irc.freenode.net) or create a JIRA if you have any problems or feature requests.
Pete.
