redirect and Ajax request generates non-Ajax response

Hello,

I have 2 questions :

* Do I always need to use 'redirect' with an "Ajax request generates non-Ajax response", or can I use 'render' instead (would save me an additional round trip to the appserver) ?
I'm using RF 3.3.0.GA.

* Also, I didn't see this limitations in the RF refence guide (just from this thread http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&t=126778).
Did I miss something ?
