1. Re: Seam 2 o Seam 3
blabno Jan 9, 2012 11:05 AM (in response to lsri8088)We've also had many projects in seam2 on jboss4, but switching to seam3 on AS7 was not that hard, however you will need to spend some time on learning the changes and tuning the project. It's not out of the box.

Hello,
I've been a little over 3 years working with Jboss Seam 2 and 4. The project is a collection of more than 10 applications and therefore we never Seam 3 plantedo change, even change the Jboss 5, let alone 6 ...
Now I will start a small project, free, and I doubt if my Seam continue to spend 2 or 3. I can not spend much time in learning something new and I see there are many differences between Seam Seam 2 and 3,
Besides, does the Jboss 5 can not work with Java 6?
¿Seam 2 works with Java 6?
Thanks for your help. Greetings.

lucaster.luca.cavagnoli.gmail.com Jan 23, 2012 3:05 PM (in response to lsri8088)You just used Google Translator!! Anyway...
I've been a little over 3 years working with Jboss Seam 2 and 4. The project is a collection of more than 10 applications and therefore we never Seam 3 plantedo change, even change the Jboss 5, let alone 6 ...I think the migration to JBoss 5 should be easy. JBoss AS 5 is a Java EE 5 container, and Seam 2 is a Java EE 5 framework. It's a perfect match.
But do NOT try to migrate Seam 2 apps to JBoss AS 6! JBoss AS 6 and JBoss AS 7 are Java EE 6 application servers and getting Seam 2 work on them is a tedious, painful process.
If you want to develop for JBoss AS 6/7, you'll have to switch to Java EE 6 / Seam 3, but t this stage Seam 3 still lacks the cool features that make Seam 2 great, and the programming model is different.
Besides, does the Jboss 5 can not work with Java 6?I don't know if this will answer your Google translated question, but anyway:
You cannot develop Java EE 6 applications on JBoss AS 5, because it is a Java EE 5 server. CDI is not supported by JBoss AS 5, only on 6 and 7.

lightguard Jan 23, 2012 3:54 PM (in response to lsri8088)If you'd like information about Seam 2.3.0 which will support JBoss AS7, JSF2 and JPA2 please see Marek Novotny's Blog. He also details how to get a Seam 2 application running on AS7.
