299 adopts 330 annotations

The conflict between these specifications has been resolved. JSR-330, Dependency Injection for Java and JSR-299 Contexts and Dependency Injection for the Java EE platform have been harmonized, JSR-299 will adopt the JSR-330 annotations, and both will be part of Java Enterprise Edition 6.

It seems to me that the DI annotations should be as consistent as possible in SE and EE so perhaps this is a good thing?

Well, it depends on what the final 330 will look like. It can be even more confusing if the annotations are the same but e.g. the level of portability varies a lot. As any good compromise - noone got exactly what they wanted ;-)

But could you imagine a complete throw down between Gavin and Eric, over the names of annotations in this super JSR? Heh.

There will be a new public draft of the 299s spec soon that uses the 330 annotations.
