asookazian Nov 18, 2009 7:46 AM (in response to asookazian)so why isn't the weld.deployer in the web profile (server/web/deployers) in JBoss 6??

nickarls Nov 18, 2009 1:18 PM (in response to asookazian)I'm not familiar with the server structure of JBoss 6 but just because there is a configuration named
web
, I don't think it means it would be the web profile. Since JBoss 6 will be a full EE 6 server, I don't even think(tm) they will have a separated server forweb profile

gavin.king Nov 18, 2009 1:50 PM (in response to asookazian)Actually I think the first JBoss 6 releases will be a web profile only.
Arbi, a JBoss AS
profile
has nothing to do with a Java EE platformprofile

asookazian Nov 18, 2009 5:07 PM (in response to asookazian)ok, so I made a horrible assumption. how would I be able to detect that the instance of jboss I started (all, default, web, etc.) is a web profile or not? assuming in the server.log or console??

Arbi, a JBoss AS "profile" has nothing to do with a Java EE platform "profile".Hi Gavin
are you sure about that? Actually the default profile of AS6M1 seams to be a full JEE profile and web seams to be a (JEE6 Web profile)
I think I read about that someone in the past?!

web

graben Nov 19, 2009 8:45 AM (in response to asookazian)Well, I found the reason I was thinking about that in a post from Jason in the past!
The web config is a new experimental lightweight configuration created around JBoss Web that will follow the developments of the JavaEE 6 web profile. Except for the servlet/jsp container it provides support for JTA/JCA and JPA. It also limits itself to allowing access to the server only through the http port. Please note that this configuration is not JavaEE certified and will most likely change in the following releases.http://in.relation.to/Bloggers/JBossAS510CR1IsOutAndWithANewConsole
Maybe it was created as JEE6 web profile in the past and the AS team has changed there minds? This statement is rather old so this might be realistic to has been changed! :-)
