Weld and Portlet

We want to use weld and richfaces in a portal environment (with jboss portletbridge) for using conversation scope. We noticed that there is a bug (WELD-510). Now my questions: When do you think this bug gets fixed? Is this the only issue so that weld can be used in a portlet or are there still other issues? Is there a way to contribute the source code to make weld portlet-ready? Are there other persons who want to use weld in a portlet environment?
