1. Re: Missing type deploying Seam JPA Booking to WAS 6.0.1
grettke_spdr Feb 13, 2008 10:57 PM (in response to grettke_spdr)Shame on me for assuming the sample preparers would read my mind and not require the IBM EJB3 feature pack be installed for running the JPA samples.
I haven't confirmed this yet, but I think it is a pretty safe bet, you see the thing is I've spent this whole time downloading the feature pack itself :)

2. Re: Missing type deploying Seam JPA Booking to WAS 6.0.1
jbalunas.jbalunas.jboss.org Feb 14, 2008 12:01 AM (in response to grettke_spdr)A couple of thoughts - the reference guide was specific for 6.1.x. I'm not sure what is different for 6.0.x.
But your second point it more likely the problem. The JPA example uses JPA transactions and I believe true JPA support was only added with the feature pact.
You can change the trasactions to use JTA - check the reference guide for details but you change the persistence.xml so that it says JTA instead of RESOURCE_LOCAL.
If I remember correctly you also need to remove the <transaction:entity-transaction entity-manager="#{em}"/> from the components.xml.
But in a week or two when you finish downloading the .75 terabyte feature pack the JPA should work fine :)

jbalunas.jbalunas.jboss.org Feb 14, 2008 2:06 AM (in response to grettke_spdr)I mean .75 gigabyte (GB) not terabyte :)
