1. Re: action in h:commandLink and a:commandLink is not invoked
alllle Mar 14, 2008 11:40 PM (in response to alllle)I also noticed that the in the pages.xml file I have:
<page view-id="/view.xhtml" action="#{ims.browseAction.loadCompletely()}"> .... </page>
and the loadComplete() method was invoked when the <a:commandLink> link is clicked. It's just that the action specified for the <a:commandLink> is not invoked.

damianharvey.damianharvey.gmail.com Mar 15, 2008 6:04 PM (in response to alllle)Just checking, but is your component actually called
ims.browseAction
or is browseAction a property of theims
component?Assuming it's the latter, is browseAction instantiated? If it is null then the loadCompletely() method will be unreachable.
Cheers,
Damian.

3. Re: action in h:commandLink and a:commandLink is not invoked
alllle Mar 16, 2008 7:12 AM (in response to alllle)the name of the component is actually
ims.browseAction
. The prefix is used as a namespace to avoid possible conflicts.I suspect that it is caused by the fact the the action component is a Stateless scope. I'll test it with a conversation scope on Monday. Meanwhile, please let me know if anyone has any idea.

alllle Mar 17, 2008 9:03 PM (in response to alllle)I tried to use conversation scope for the component and it didn't help.
It is very frustrating as I don't know where to trace to look for the problem. Similar view code works fine and this one just don't.

leesy Jun 17, 2008 3:25 PM (in response to alllle)I've got the same trouble. But for me it does appear that I have one or two methods that run while others don't. I think my problem is conversation related but I'm not sure what it is still.
Did you ever track down what your original problem was?

7. Re: action in h:commandLink and a:commandLink is not invoked
alllle Jun 23, 2008 8:34 AM (in response to alllle)It was because of JSF errors that I had to turn on the JSF debugging to reveal.
