State Saving Method

The reference guide has the following statement:

Some JSF implementations have a broken implementation of server-side state saving that interferes with Seam's conversation propagation.

What are the JSF implementations that trigger the problem?

I believe this is referring MyFaces, specifically whatever version we were using in JBoss 4. I don't know if the problems still exist in later releases.

I think that this statement has fallen out of date. Unless you notice problems, I wouldn't really worry about it. Personally, I prefer server-side state saving.

Yup, that specific bug was fixed last year:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MYFACES-1733

I had no problems using MyFaces Core with Seam after that fix.

Ok - thank you. We have not yet noticed a problem but were concerned about the mention in the reference guide because we prefer server-side state saving also.

It may be worth removing it from the reference guide if it is no longer an issue.
