1. Re: Formating issue with <s:link> removing spaces
mkiel Jun 17, 2008 8:39 PM (in response to jstockton)Yes, I have always had the same problem. One possible workaround is to add #{' '} before every <s:link/> tag. Another would be to add a custom link component and tag which mimics the needed behaviour of <s:link/> but adds a space before the output. Since the same thing happens with other tags such as <h:outputLink/> this might be a general JSF issue.

jstockton Jun 18, 2008 8:30 PM (in response to jstockton)Thanks for the ideas. Neither is really an ideal solution and I have a hard time understanding how such a bug has not only come to exist but last for so long. I guess its just not a priority :(

wondersonic.wondersonic.gmail.com Jan 16, 2009 10:35 PM (in response to jstockton)Great, thanks for the hint.
However we are in 2009, and in Seam 2.1.1.GA I still encounter this problem. Has a Jira issue be created for this?

danielc.roth Jan 18, 2009 1:17 AM (in response to jstockton)I'm not sure it has to do with the s:link. The code for s:link starts by writing an <a ...> and ends with </a>. I haven't looked more into it, so I really can't tell where it happens. Could you try with s:button or h::outputLink to see if the space is removed?

norman Jan 19, 2009 5:56 PM (in response to jstockton)Yes, this is an issue with Facelets. My understanding is that the
correct
way is exactly as suggested - use  .
