Setting external directory for email templates in renderer

Hi all-
We're using the seam renderer to send email. I want to define an external directory for templates (not under web-inf) so we can configure and load templates without recompiling and deploying the app. How can I set this value in renderer? Do I need a classpath setting somewhere? (We're using JBoss). Overriding renderer would work, if I knew the api.

If you are using the Renderer your path can point to any file under your Webapp-Context-Path, for instance:

this.renderer.render(/core/mail/companyActivation.xhtml);

or

this.renderer.render(/WEB-INF/core/mail/companyActivation.xhtml);
