Displaying status while page is loading in browser

Hi there,

I have a rich:tabPanel with switchType="server" (default). When I click on one of the tabs, the entire page essentially loads and is created. The problem is that for a few of the tabs, the load process is quite slow as there is a lot of data to be setup/calculated. How can I display some sort of modal status or indicator so that the user knows the system is processing?

I did it setting something like this:

onclick="#{rich:component('statusModalPanel')}.show()"

Thanks. How do you then make the modal panel disappear once the contents of the page/tab are loaded?
