dhinojosa Jul 11, 2008 12:29 AM (in response to admin.admin.email.tld)Yeah, I would like to follow up with people I have responded too as well. But find it hard to keep up without email notifications. I am sure that some of these people feel neglected after they ask a follow up question.

admin.admin.email.tld Jul 11, 2008 12:42 AM (in response to admin.admin.email.tld)well I wanted to make sure it wasn't just me before saying it's a bug or feature enhancement request (JIRA). most likely it has something to do with the wiki seam project or a configuration issue as that's what this forum is based on.

not getting enough unless I'm missing something? are we supposed to get emailed if someone replies to one of our threads?
or if we respond to somebody else's thread and then somebody replies to my reply?
what's the rule for email notifications on this forum??I agree. It would be very helpful for me to be able to track down on members that replied to my message because it's kind of difficult to dig down all of the message I have replied. :)

Or perhaps svn repo where we can checkout the source code for this Seam Forum.

admin.admin.email.tld Jul 11, 2008 10:42 PM (in response to admin.admin.email.tld)there is a Enable e-mail reply notification switch by default: checkbox in the profile section.
Mine is checked.
There is also a mailing lists page but that's for subscriptions for daily emails, etc.
I'm talking about real-time email notification (which is broken in my case, although sometimes I do get an email).
e.g. here's one from 7/9/08:
subject: SeamFramework.org Forums Re: Exadel Flamingo Project for Rapid Flex and Java Development
but that one I posted the topic myself...

pmuir Jul 11, 2008 11:01 PM (in response to admin.admin.email.tld)You can either get email reply notification of topics you post OR email notification of all posts (via the mailing list). There is no way to get notification of selected topics.

admin.admin.email.tld Jul 12, 2008 12:02 AM (in response to admin.admin.email.tld)Generally speaking, the idea is to get emailed for all topics that you have posted to (either as the creator or replier).
I don't want to get emails for ALL the posted topics (i.e., the ones I'm not interested in and haven't posted on).
Is this possible in the wiki project on this forum or not?

admin.admin.email.tld Jul 12, 2008 3:42 PM (in response to admin.admin.email.tld)It depends on how many more stupid things John McCain says. total disaster.
You replied to my recent DAO topic and I didn't get an email for that (even though I posted the topic and should have b/c the email notification checkbox is checked in my profile). It's not in my spam/bulk folder either.
I will open a JIRA for that as well as the above later today and possibly look into the wiki source to see how the email functionality works.
That needs to be fixed, people are getting ignored on here b/c of it...

admin.admin.email.tld Jul 12, 2008 6:30 PM (in response to admin.admin.email.tld)I had recently changed my email address in the profile from my work addy to yahoo addy (and it's the right addy: a_sookazian@yahoo.com). Shouldn't be a problem I'd imagine.
Well, I guess I can always think of a new topic and test it again...
when you say you checked and it's enabled, are you referring to my email being enabled in my settings or a wiki/site setting??

14. Re: email notifications from this forum
admin.admin.email.tld Jul 12, 2008 7:15 PM (in response to admin.admin.email.tld)My apologies. I double-checked my yahoo spam folder and there are three recent emails from seamframework.org.
The problem was I have these dirty scoundrel spam messages post-dated and I wasn't checking the dates (wasn't seeing the emails from this forum basically).
So the outstanding problem that needs to be solved is sending an email for any and all replies, like most other forums, so people get left hanging or dissed when they need help...
I will file a JIRA for that in the wiki project if one doesn't already exist.
