MySQL Connection problem

Hi

We are using seam framework for our web application.With MySql as our database.When we start the server and and keep idle for a long time, approximately more than 8hrs, our MySql connection get closed and we need to start the server again to do database operations.So when i searched MySql default connection is 8hrs. So is there any way to increase the time or remove the time setting from our application.

Plz help.we are in great need.

in your datasource-ds.xml file add

?autoReconnect=true 

to the connection-url.

ex:

<connection-url>jdbc:mysql://xx.x.xx.xx:3306/database?autoReconnect=true</connection-url>
