using seam logger in stand alone project

I am trying to use SEAM logger component in stand alone project outside web application, when trying to run the class get null pointer exception on log instance. It looks like seam components are not initialized while running class through main program.
The reason for using this is not to deal with apache logging api's that are used by other projects, has any one got logger to work as stand alone component..

What you want is work for a library like SLF4J (Simple Logging Facade For Java) that way you get full independence from the underlying logging mechanism. But trying to use Seam Logging in  non-web-application (I am guessing a Swing or Console based application) is currently not possible.

Thanks for quick response, SLF4J does similar to Seam logging or vice versa.
We are also using Seam heavily for Web Applications, hence not sure if i really need couple more jars and one more framework to depend on.
