Tooltip for s:selectItems

Is there any way to add a tooltip to the items of a h:selectOneMenu when using s:selectItems? I'm pretty sure it could be done with javascript, but I really don't know how.

If I understand the question you actually want to set the title attribute on the HTML OPTION. When you hover over it you get a standard browser tooltip.

I don't think s:selectItems will help you here, and the fault lies not with Seam but with the JSF SelectItem. I suppose since this attribute is rarely used they didn't bother implementing it.

I can't see you having much joy with javascript either unless you intend to apply the same value to each OPTION title?

Thanks for your answers. Unfortunatly the Richfaces tooltip doesn't work here either. The only solution I see right now is using AJAX to display aditional information somewhere on the page after the user has selected an item instead of in the item's tooltip.

I've tried RichFaces tooltip to do this just this and it did not work.  In fact, I scrapped any usage of rich:toolTip in favor of a Prototip 2.  Rich:toolTip is full of bugs.

What bugs? I'm using it in a few places and have found it fine so far.
