Redirect to home page if session active

Hi,

We have a login page and after logging in successfully the user is taken to the home page. Now if we hit the login URL again (on same browser window), the user is prompted to enter the username/passwd again. The user can enter any invalid userid and he gets logged in !! How do we redirect the user to the home page is the session is valid ?

We are using a custom authenticator but that never gets called when the login page is hit second time.

why not have home page as main entry and redirect to login page if user is not logged?

Or have a yourLoginPage.page.xml with an entry like this:

      xsi:schemaLocation="http://jboss.com/products/seam/pages http://jboss.com/products/seam/pages-2.0.xsd" action="#{authenticator.checkLogin}">
     <navigation from-action="#{authenticator.checkLogin}">
          <rule if="#{identity.loggedIn}">
               <redirect view-id="/secure/home.xhtml"/>
          </rule>
     </navigation>
</page>

Where checkLogin is just an empty dummy method returning a String.

Hi Damian,

This stopped working in 2.1.0 GA version of seam. The authenticator.checkLogin
is never called when i do a back on the browser after logging in.
