User Operations Tracking

Hi,

We have some 100 entities and we need a way of tracking what operations(create/delete/modify/read) the user performed on these entities. We can write out the audit logs in the EntityHome methods (create/delete/modify) but is there any simpler way of doing this ?

This is a common requested functionality. Check this hibernate post:

it is a little dated but should get you going.

If you don't like hibernate interceptors you can probably achieving similar results using EJB3 Entity Listeners.

There is also a fairly new JBoss project Envers for Easy Entity Versioning.
