Building Tree from database

Hi,

I am very new to Seam (and richfaces). I am trying to build a dynamic tree. I build my root nodes and every time I select a node, I would like that the database is hit and all the node childrens are load from the db and rendred back to my page. I looked at the samples in richfaces but cannnot figure out howot combine with the database. I have a working exmaple which loads everything form the database.
Has anyone an example or any hint.
