I need a component that will update several application-level stats on a configurable interval on the order of 1-5 minutes. My original thought was to instantiate my Timer component in components.xml, but I'm not sure how to properly start and stop this Timer.
Has anyone created such a component? If so, do you have anything you can share in terms of approach or code?
