3. Re: Rich text editor for Seam Text ?
romain.dev.easycity.com Jan 14, 2009 12:22 PM (in response to romain.dev.easycity.com)Oups...
Is it available in Seam 2.1.1.GA yet ? It used version 3.2.2.SR1 of richfaces.
I tryied to use it and I get this error :
com.sun.facelets.tag.TagException: /include/pages/poi/edit-poi/description.xhtml @40,45 <rich:editor> Tag Library supports namespace: http://richfaces.org/rich, but no tag was defined for name: editor
Is there guidelines to update to 3.3.0 ?

4. Re: Rich text editor for Seam Text ?
david.salter Jan 18, 2009 1:13 PM (in response to romain.dev.easycity.com)RichFaces 3.3.0 works fine with Seam 2.1.1.
You need to copy the new RichFaces jars over the old ones making sure that you rename the RichFaces jar files to be without the version number.
Check out the migration document with the release for details of any code changes etc. you may need.

5. Re: Rich text editor for Seam Text ?
romain.dev.easycity.com Jan 20, 2009 11:17 PM (in response to romain.dev.easycity.com)Thanks David,
I don't have any error anymore after the new richfaces jars copy but the rich:editor doesn't render.
I get an empty space in the page. Any idea ?

david.salter Jan 21, 2009 6:27 PM (in response to romain.dev.easycity.com)Yes, you've got to remember to do a clean and then deploy or the old jars may still be there causing problems.

8. Re: Rich text editor for Seam Text ?
romain.dev.easycity.com Jan 21, 2009 11:31 PM (in response to romain.dev.easycity.com)Great !
I still have a last issue with seam text when I try to save a special character (accent or €) :
23:13:26,592 INFO [lifecycle] WARNING: FacesMessage(s) have been enqueued, but may not have been displayed. sourceId=poi-edit-form:textArea-news-fr[severity=(INFO 0), summary=(An error occurred during conversion html to seam text), detail=(expecting an opening angle bracket '<', found '&')]
Here is the xhtml :
<rich:editor id="textArea-news-#{poiDet.locale.id}" value="#{poiDet.recentNews}" autoResize="true" width="500" height="350" useSeamText="true" configuration="richeditorconfig" language="#{locale.language}" />
When I set useSeamText to false, saving is ok but rendering doesn't work using :
<s:formattedText value="#{poiInfoManager.poiDetails.recentNews}"/>
Is there something I forgot ?
Thanks for you guidelines.

9. Re: Rich text editor for Seam Text ?
tony.herstell1 Jan 22, 2009 1:51 AM (in response to romain.dev.easycity.com)Yes I get this error too.
Please raise this on the Richfaces forum as well (or possibly instead of).
For now fiddle with the config for the component to turn off the special character button! (you will see how to do this in the RF manual)... (I can post some code to copy/paste if ou really need it).
I have two JIRA's on some
QA Opportunites
with that component when realted to SeamText and one may actually be a seam bug...I must admit I forgot to mention to them the crash with special characters.
They have an amazing turnaround time on the RF crew!

10. Re: Rich text editor for Seam Text ?
romain.dev.easycity.com Jan 22, 2009 11:45 AM (in response to romain.dev.easycity.com)Thank you Tony,
I just posted to the richfaces forum :
http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&p=4203923#4203923
I turned off the special character button but the issue will still raise if the user types or pastes a special character directly.
Could you please post your code to temporally fix this ?
Thanks for you help !
Best regards,
