RUNNING SEAM 2.1.1GA on NETBEANS 6.5

Howdy, Please can anyone, put me through with seting up seam on netbeans 6.5, whenever i try to open the seam-gen folder in netbeans 6.5 it doesnt show up as an importable package as in , with a unique color and all that. So pls can some one put me tru. Thank you so very much have a wonderful weekend.

Hi,

You use seam-gen to create a new project.  Seam-gen will create a NetBeans 6.5 compatible project within the directory you specify during running seam-gen.

Have you successfully created a project with seam-gen?

I was able to fix it , the issue is that you cannot import seam gen into netbeans 6.5 the regular way. so what you do is start a new project  then select java under the category column after which you select java project from existing sources from the column on the right

hereafter you click next, which links you to a new page from where you enter your project name, and project folder, which is where your seam 2.x.x is bundled. and thus your build.xml, after this yoy hit the finish button and of ,cos you are set to do your seam-gen stuff via netbeans gui and all that.

An even easier way to achieve this is to simply go to File->Open Project.  Seam-gen creates the necessary nb* files.  So, the project is innately already a Seam project.

Yeah prior to this time dat worked fro me but on trying to load seam 2.1.1 GA on NetBeans 6.5 i noticed that I couldn't do it that way thus
I had to look for a way out.

With Seam 2.1.1, you can still open projects in NetBeans 6.5 if they are generated with Seam-gen.

What sort of problems are you getting when you try to open a project?

Gentlemen, were you really able to install the Seam Gen Plugin in Netbeans 6.5. the last i tried which was a month ago December 2008, there was NO official Seam Gen plugin for Netbeans 6.5. The only way out was to use Netbeans 6.1 which HAS an official plugin available(through building it etc)

So please, maybe i am out of field manual, may you clarify whether Seam Gen plugin now waorks in Netbeans 6.5 and how you managed to do it

I think my phrasing sent the wrong message. i meant no offense. What i was just trying to say is currently the Seam Gen plugin for netbeans 6.5 is not stable, such that the best option would be to revert back to Netbeans 6.1 which has a working plugin, while we wait for the Guys working on the plugin to release a stable version.
It was just advice to avoid headaches
