Seam logging in Websphere

I am running Seam 2.1.1 GA and Websphere 6.1 which uses built-in JDK logging.

Is there a way to turn on Seam's internal debug logging using JDK logging or do I need to use Log4j?

According to the docs, Seam will use log4j if it exists in the classpath and JDK logging otherwise.

Have you tried removing log4j from the classpath?

Go to the WAS console in the following WAS console menu:
\ Troubleshooting \ Logs and trace \ server1 \ Change log detail levels \ Runtime \

• Check the Save runtime changes to configuration as well checkbox.
