Portuguese encoding

HI.

I'm having some trouble dealing with some portuguese characters like 'ç' or 'í' (among others) while developing my application.

Researched a bit and found some possible solutions (some found in this forum) such as setting the encoding to iso-8859-1, which I tried but without success. I keep getting an invalid utf8 sequence.

How can I solve this? Is there any straightforward solution for this?

If you're using Facelets, on the very top of you .xhtml source you should add:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1"?>

Another option is to use message bundles. For some reason conversion is automatic for message bundles.
