theme.css and theme.xcss

Hi, all


        I am new to seamframework and i want to change the default colours.In this seam-gen they defaultly spicified some styles in theme.css and theme.xcss.

Can any one tell me what is the need to use both css and xcss.What is the differece between them and how they apply the currently specified settings.
